Yes, animals die as a result of the production of most foods you can buy. And perhaps worse, uncounted billions of animals never get the chance to live, their habitats having been destroyed by our agricultural practices. Over many years of hunting and fishing I have killed and eaten a lot of animals. I don't hunt any more, though I still have a real hankering for wild duck or pheasant, and elk or well treated venison, good and good for you! But I don't like to kill these animals that I love, though I probably would in the right circumstance. Possibly I'll go veggie one of these days but for now, I still like a filet of salmon or a bison steak and I know well every step on the way from river or field to my table.
