You have no idea what Gates wants, why would you claim that you do? Your thesis reminds me of a ship in the polar ocean that is threatened by icebergs where the passengers blame the ship and want to take to the life boats. It's possible that you haven't noticed, but many billions of your fellow human beings rely almost totally on the current markets and supply chains for shelter, sustenance, water, heat, cooling, and thousands of other unnoticed but crucial products and services provided by "capitalism".
Maybe you have some magic formula for eliminating capitalism while maintaining the goods and services it provides, for averting the tragedies that would follow their interruption...I sure don't. Meanwhile, the climate crisis can't wait for some miraculous transformation of global economic systems. Of course individual lifestyle behavior can't make the necessary impact on climate change...mass behavior can. Of course putting aerosol reflectors in the atmosphere is risky to the point of foolishness...what makes you think that doing so is the only form of geoengineering?
Focusing on secondary issues, like the structure of global finance and business can be part of solving long term climate issues but we have a short term crisis and distractions are potentially deadly.
